Dear East Dover Elementary School Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the principal of East Dover Elementary School and work with this wonderful school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than nineteen years. Before becoming the principal here, I worked with students from PreK through 7th grade in various roles. I have been a teacher for grades 3 - 5, a P.B.S.I.S. Coach (Positive Behavior Support in Schools), a Dean of Students, supervised K-2 intervention, ran enrichment programs, and was an Assistant Principal (grades PreK through 7) as well as a Principal for an Intermediate School (grades 4 and 5). I am thrilled to utilize my skills as an educational leader at East Dover Elementary and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, my days and weekends are based on my wife and I running to the moon and back for baseball, competition cheerleading, and wrestling. However, I would not trade it for anything! My son, Gabe, is about to enter fifth-grade, and my daughter, Olivia, is about to start eighth-grade.

I view education as a life-long process and continue to learn every year from our students, teachers, and parents. Most importantly, I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.

I look forward to meeting you and your children soon!

Sincerely,

Joshua Chuy
